Well today Marks the end of the first full week at Chicago Summer mission 2016.
there are 97 other students here and 56 other people on staff with cru. my Michigan State campus has 8 people from it which I am really thankful for. over the course of the week while many other students are finding jobs, I have been interning with cru. the internship is called Crossroads. there are 20 students in crossroads, and 5 staff, plus 1 volunteer staff (someone on staff with cru but works for free). we have had crossroads on each day of the week except for Wednesday where everyone in crossroads and some other students will go to schools like Illinois institute of technology(IIT), University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), and University of Chicago (UC). I am at assigned to UIC each Wednesday where I will be sharing my faith with students on a college campus. and in the evenings on Monday and Thursday we have sessions where we have teachings and worship at a church called Harvest church here in downtown Chicago. on Tuesday nights we have our small bible studies called "action groups" mine consists of 4 students including myself and 2 staff. we are studying 1 peter for these first 5 weeks of the 10 week summer project. while it seems that almost all the time we are together in this Christian community we have had some great time to ourselves on Wednesday nights where we have our "night with the lord" and we are all reading our bible, praying, listening to worship music. (really anything that connects us to the lord.) on Friday nights we have free time to do as we please. Today since its Friday I am going to be getting dinner with my older brother Paul. that's pretty much where I am at right now. I plan on posting again soon :) .
